Croscombe Flood Committee

Croscombe experiences flooding regularly, which the Parish Council Flood Committee, (formed after the October 2020 floods), is committed to reviewing. The Committee works with Somerset County Council (SCC) and other agencies gathering information to inform us in taking action to reduce future floods. It also works to help the village and parishioners be prepared.
This work began in earnest at the first Flood Hub held on 20 March 2021.

• Find your local Flood Warden in the most recent Community Flood Plan.
• Sign up to receive Flood Warnings direct from the Environment Agency (EA) Floodline to your phone and email address, or phone Floodline on 0345 988 1188 to register.
• What to do before, during and after a flood is an EA downloadable pdf leaflet.
• Again from the EA, The Environment Agency’s Approach to Groundwater Protection is a downloadable pdf leaflet.
• SCC Flooding Information – This site lists a number of links including to the Met Office and Travel Somerset. At the bottom of the page is a list of links that could be useful in preparation or in the event of a flood.
